Esta semana presentaremos a <strong>Joaqu\u00edn Torres Garc\u00eda<\/strong> (1874-1949), pintor uruguayo-espa\u00f1ol nacido en Montevideo. Vivi\u00f3 cerca de\u00a0Barcelona durante su vida adulta y fue contempor\u00e1neo de <strong>Pablo Picasso<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Last week we reviewed\u00a0vocabulary on Spanish art and we talked about Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. This week we introduce Joaqu\u00edn Torres Garc\u00eda (1874-1949), Uruguayan-Spanish painter born in Montevideo. Buscaba transmitir un mensaje a trav\u00e9s de <strong>signos<\/strong> que admitieran <strong>lecturas libres<\/strong> <strong>de subjetividad.<\/strong>\u00bb<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">According to Wikipedia, &#8220;Torres Garcia devoted his work\u00a0to\u00a0search for a <strong>way to express<\/strong> reality\u00a0in <strong>concepts<\/strong>, in <strong>simplified forms<\/strong> of this same reality.
