I know, I have gone on and on about it so I will stop right now and move on to the slightly broader subject of geography and provinces. Today: Svealand &#8211; the middle part of our lovely country.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/swedish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2010\/06\/landskap1.gif\"> <\/a>Svealand consists of the six provinces Dalarna, N\u00e4rke, S\u00f6dermanland, Uppland, V\u00e4rmland and V\u00e4stmanland, covers an area of 90 000 square kilometres and habits 3, 5 million Swedes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/swedish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2010\/06\/landskap1.gif\" aria-label=\"Landskap1 136x300\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1352\" title=\"landskap\"  alt=\"\" width=\"136\" height=\"300\" \/ src=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/swedish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2010\/06\/landskap1-136x300.gif\"><\/a>9. <strong>Dalarna <\/strong>means &#8220;the valleys&#8221; and\u00a0if you ever come across a picture perfect\u00a0photo of Swedish summer,\u00a0there is a strong possibility it is taken in Dalarna.\u00a0The province attracts loads of\u00a0tourists\u00a0&#8211; both Swedish and\u00a0foreign and\u00a0is famous for its amazing scenery &#8211;\u00a0mostly around the big lake Siljan &#8211;\u00a0its\u00a0delicacy falukorv from the city of Falun and of course, the ultra Swedish symbol the Dala horse!<br \/>\nProvince animal: Berguv (Eurasian eagle owl)<br \/>\nProvince flower: Bl\u00e5klocka (bluebell)<\/p>\n<div>10. <strong>V\u00e4rmland<\/strong> is a province with endless forests, the beautiful river Klar\u00e4lven and the proud birthplace of world famous fotball coach Sven-G\u00f6ran Ericsson. The biggest city is Karlstad, located by Swedens biggest lake, V\u00e4nern.<br \/>\nProvince animal: Varg (wolf)<\/div>\n<div>Province flower: Skogsstj\u00e4rna\u00a0( chickweed wintergreen)\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>12. <strong>Uppland<\/strong> is also a placed packed with history and ancient monuments, around 150 000 to be a bit more exact. It is also packed with people, since this is where Sweden&#8217;s capital Stockholm is located &#8211; partly. \u00a0Other famous cities in Uppland are the univeristy town of Uppsala.<br \/>\nProvince animal: Havs\u00f6rn (eagle) Province flower: Kungs\u00e4ngslilja (fritillary)<\/p>\n<p>13. <strong>V\u00e4stmanland<\/strong> is a province nicely tucked in between where north meets south and gives it an interesting mix of scenery, flora, fauna and cultural life. The biggest city in V\u00e4stmanland is V\u00e4ster\u00e5s and the biggest celebrities are the famous rockband the Hives.<br \/>\nProvince animal: R\u00e5djur (roe deer)<br \/>\nProvince flower: Mistel (mistletoe)<\/p>\n<p>14. <strong>N\u00e4rke&#8217;s<\/strong> history dates back to the late days of the ice age, signs show that people lived in the already then. The province has a rich history and over 5 000 ancient monuments to be proud of.<br \/>\nProvince animal: Hasselmus (dormouse)<br \/>\nProvince flower: Gullviva<\/p>\n<p><strong>S\u00f6dermanland<\/strong> is often called &#8220;S\u00f6rmland&#8221; and is a flat province, the highest point is no more than 100 meters above sea level. The southern part of Stockholm \u201cbelongs&#8221; to S\u00f6dermanland, making it a very populated province.<br \/>\nProvince animal: Fiskgjuse (osprey)<br \/>\nProvince flower: Vit n\u00e4ckros (white water lily)<\/p>\n<p>Last but not least, G\u00f6tland coming up!
