Sweden is well known for innovation on several different fronts.\u00a0 Skype, Pirate Bay, Spotify.\u00a0 All are relatively new and all are well respected technological innovations.<\/p>\n
But the innovation didn\u2019t start in the 2000s.\u00a0 And it wasn\u2019t always technology.\u00a0 Some Swedish inventions and innovations are well known.\u00a0 There was the method of measuring temperature in Celsius by, you guessed it, Anders Celsius in the 18th<\/sup> century.\u00a0 The dynamite invented by Alfred Nobel (the founder of the Nobel prizes) in the 19th<\/sup> century.\u00a0 And of course the pacemaker being invented by Rune Elmqvist in the 20th<\/sup> century.<\/p>\n Along the way though, several other Swedes have made contributions to our everyday lives.\u00a0 Some of which may surprise you.<\/p>\n For example, Carl Boberg wrote O Store Gud<\/em> which would later become How Great Thou Art<\/em>, one of the most played religious songs in the world.\u00a0 Surprising considering how secular Sweden is today.<\/p>\n In the early 1900s, Alexander Samuelson invented the Coca-Cola bottle.\u00a0 An iconic bottle that is still revered for its design.
