Hip Hop was already popular in the early 1980s in underground clubs in Sweden, but the critics and the media didn\u00b4t really appriciate the genre until the breakthrough of Neneh Cherry. Neneh\u00b4s brother Eagle Eye Cherry is also a famous musician. Maybe you guys\u00a0remember one of his bigger hits <em>Save tonight<\/em>.\u00a0Neneh has a stepsister as well named Titiyo\u00a0who is also a successful Swedish performer. You might remember tracks like\u00a0<em>Come Along with me <\/em>or<em> Longing for Lullabies <\/em>with Kleerup<em>.<\/em>\u00a0Neneh works on several music projects and\u00a0\u00a0as a popular DJ as well. Her\u00a0father used to be against her anti-muslim lifestyle and tried to send her to a school in\u00a0Morocco to\u00a0improve Leila\u00b4s manners. But she didn\u00b4t fit into the system.\u00a0After only a year she came back to Sweden and\u00a0moved to Stockholm. After winning a RAP-contest she\u00a0launched her career with the help of the DJ duo\u00a0Rob\u00b4n\u00b4Raz.\u00a0And the whole\u00a0continent was shaking the foundation to <em>Got to get<\/em>.\u00a0Unfourtunately, she managed to go bankrupt although she was the best selling female artist in Europe in the beginning of the 90s. The problem-ridden star has\u00a0had alcohol and drug problems ever since\u00a0and ended up as\u00a0homeless on the streets of Stockholm. In 2003 the Swedish TV-reported that she was not only living on the streets but stealing her food as well. A very tragic story. Her crime story is about a Chinese\u00a0girl Yi Young who is now 30 years old and wants to tell her true story to the Swedish media. She was 15 years old when she arrived to Sweden but it wasn\u00b4t work that was waiting for her but abuse, prostitution and violence.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Hiphopper - Thomas Rusiak feat. It is a sarcastic hip hop song with rocky beats\u00a0about the genre hiphop. The song was co-produced with Teddybears Sthlm.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Petter - S\u00e5 klart ! ft. In this song she tells us how a man should treat her. In quick speech you have many assimilations between different sounds in Swedish like; Fattar du? &#8211; Fattaru? Hej d\u00e5! &#8211; Hejr\u00e5!,\u00a0Vad heter det\/heter du? &#8211; Va hettere\/hetteru?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=PLvQbkj-exE\">http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=PLvQbkj-exE<\/a> <strong>2003 Timbuktu &#8211; The botten is n\u00e5dd (The bottom is reached).<\/strong> He is a hip hop artist with original texts and lovely Lund\/Sk\u00e5nska-dialect in Swedish. He is a true author. It is an old hip hop group and they always come up with something year after year. It is maybe\u00a0an interesting thing to mention for all you language learners that in this area there is a big amount of Swedes with immigrant background.\u00a0Many of the citizens speak a\u00a0so called Rinkebysvenska. That\u00a0has a big potential to develop into a dialect\u00a0in Swedish in the future. There are similar variants of Swedish in other suburbs like Roseng\u00e5rd in Malm\u00f6 or Angered in Gothenburg.\u00a0It is originally influenced by foreign vocabulary,\u00a0immigrant accents and local dialects of course. But for a really long time it was considered as an accent.
