The author of “Hundraåringen som klev ut genom fönstret och försvann”, Jonas Jonasson, found his way to the Swedish blog and to the book competition. He was so impressed and humbled by the big interest you guys were showing in his book that he offered me some extra addition to the competition – a copy with a personal dedication to the winner! In other words, the winner will not only get the book, he or she will also get it signed by Jonas Jonasson himself. Such a nice gesture, isn’t it?

So, who is the lucky winner? There was no way I could pick one, all your comments are excellent. In the end, I told my work mate to pick a random number between 1 and 54. This book sounds like it’s made for me. A Forrest Gump-style tale and I coincidentally live very near the author of FG, Winston Groom. Like virtually everyone else on this blog, it’s impossible to find Swedish books where I live. This would be such a treat!

But since I still have my copy of the book and so many of you took part, I will give away mine as well. It might not be signed by the author (I can sign it if you want to 🙂 but at least you get to read an amazing book. So, congratulations Steph Steele! The book will be with you shortly.

Steph’s comment: I wanted to get some Swedish language books to help motivate me to read Swedish on a regular basis, but I didn’t know where to start! The book title translation made me giggle and that’s always a good starting point for a new read. When I was in Sweden last year, all the books in the hostels were dubious old bird watching books and the like, not quite the adventure story of the book in question. That’s more up my street! Perhaps it would be a good book to leave in a hostel once read so that it would actually stand out against the old ones, and go to a new home. I may write a story about that…

I like the idea of travelling books and I love to leave books in hostels and pick up new old ones. As I said before, this book deserves to travel. Once you have read it, you will understand why.

Thank you all for taking part and congratulations once again to Kat and Steph! I promise I will do this soon again and more often. And, a special thank you to Jonas Jonasson, who kindly is giving away a signed copy of his book.
