And not only that, we will have new faces on all our notes as well. The criteria for the selection of the new faces of Sweden&#8217;s currency were &#8220;a cultural personality active in the 20th century, popular with the people, internationally recognised and representing various parts of the country&#8221;.<br \/>\nThe chosen lucky ones were announced last week and this is who you will carry in your pocket from the year 2014:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/swedish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2011\/04\/DAG_HA1.jpg\" aria-label=\"DAG HA1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3434 aligncenter\"  alt=\"\" width=\"206\" height=\"264\" \/ src=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/swedish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2011\/04\/DAG_HA1.jpg\"><\/a><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>The 1 000 kronor note:<\/strong><br \/>\nFormer United Nations secretary-general Dag Hammarskj\u00f6ld will be portrayed on the 1 000 kronor note. He served as head of the UN from 1953 until his death in 1961 and scenes from his beloved Lappland in the far north of Sweden will also be featured on the note.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3436 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/swedish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2011\/04\/200px-Birgitnhat.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"247\" \/><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>The 500 kronor note:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe opera singer Birgit Nilsson (1914-2005) will grace the 500 kronor note with her face together with scenes from Sk\u00e5ne in the far south of Sweden.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">:<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/swedish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2011\/04\/220px-Ingmar_Bergman_Smultronstallet.jpg\" aria-label=\"220px Ingmar Bergman Smultronstallet\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"  alt=\"\" width=\"220\" height=\"163\" \/ src=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/swedish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2011\/04\/220px-Ingmar_Bergman_Smultronstallet.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>The brand new 200 kronor note:<\/strong><br \/>\nSwedish film director Ingmar Bergman landed the honour of adorning the new 200 kronor note together with scenes from the Baltic island of Gotland. Ingmar Bergman is best known for dark movies like &#8220;The Seventh Seal&#8221; and &#8220;Fanny and Alexander&#8221; and he died in July 2007.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/swedish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2011\/04\/220px-Garbo_Lenox_Publicity.jpg\" aria-label=\"220px Garbo Lenox Publicity\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3441\"  alt=\"\" width=\"220\" height=\"274\" \/ src=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/swedish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2011\/04\/220px-Garbo_Lenox_Publicity.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>The 100 kronor note:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">The mysterious beauty Greta Garbo will be featured on the new 100 kronor note. She was a major movie star in Hollywood&#8217;s Golden Age and she died in 1990. She is buried in her old hometown Stockholm and you will find from scenes from the capital on the note as well.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">:<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/swedish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2011\/04\/220px-Evert_Taube_1961.jpg\" aria-label=\"220px Evert Taube 1961\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\"  alt=\"\" width=\"220\" height=\"191\" \/ src=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/swedish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2011\/04\/220px-Evert_Taube_1961.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>The 50 kronor note:<\/strong><br \/>\nOn this note you will find Evert Taube (12 March 1890-31 January 1976) &#8211; one of Sweden&#8217;s most famous folk musicians. He was closely associated with the idyllic coastal province Bohusl\u00e4n, just north of Gothenburg.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/swedish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2011\/04\/255px-Lindgren_1960.jpg\" aria-label=\"255px Lindgren 1960\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3443\"  alt=\"\" width=\"255\" height=\"201\" \/ src=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/swedish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2011\/04\/255px-Lindgren_1960.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>The 20 kronor note:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The favourite children&#8217;s author Astrid Lindgren will be the new face on the 20 kronor note, replacing the popular author Selma Lagerl\u00f6f. Astrid Lindgren, best known internationally for her character Pippi Longstocking, is meanwhile closely associated with Sm\u00e5land in southern Sweden, where many of her stories took place.<\/p>\n<p>The Swedish king Carl XVI Gustav will remain the theme of all of our coins.<\/p>\n<p>There we have it, our new note celebrities!
