But I&#8217;ll give it a go, starting off with \u00c4N and \u00c4ND\u00c5, continuing this same-same-but different thrill with \u00c4NNU and FORTFARANDE next time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00c4N = THAN, STILL, YET<\/strong><br \/>\nEX: Svenskabloggen \u00e4r b\u00e4ttre\u00a0<strong>\u00e4n<\/strong>\u00a0danskabloggen = The\u00a0Swedish blog is\u00a0better\u00a0<strong>than<\/strong> the Danish blog.<br \/>\nSwedish \u00c4N in mostly used in the same way as the English THAN; to compare, for things that are bigger than&#8230;, smaller than&#8230;., more handsome than&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c4N in also sometimes used in the following way:<br \/>\nEX:<strong> \u00c4n<\/strong> \u00e4r det f\u00f6r tidigt f\u00f6r att ge besked = It&#8217;s <strong>still\/yet <\/strong>too early to say anything definite<br \/>\nHere, \u00c4N has the same meaning as tomorrow&#8217;s words, \u00c4NNU and FORTFARANDE, and you can use those as well.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c4N is also used in the following expressions:<br \/>\n<strong>\u00e4n s\u00e5 l\u00e4nge = so far<\/strong><br \/>\nEX: Jag gillar svenskabloggen<strong> \u00e4n s\u00e5 l\u00e4nge<\/strong> = I like the Swedish blog <strong>so far<br \/>\n\u00e4n sen d\u00e5? = so what?<\/strong><br \/>\nEX: Okej, \u00e4n sen d\u00e5? Okay, so what?<br \/>\n<strong>&#8220;om \u00e4n&#8230;&#8221;<\/strong><br \/>\nEX: Den \u00e4r fin, om\u00a0<strong>\u00e4n<\/strong> lite dyr = It&#8217;s nice, but <strong>still\/yet<\/strong> a bit expensive<br \/>\nHere, \u00c4N has almost the same meaning as\u00a0\u00c4ND\u00c5, saying that even if the dress is nice, it is still a bit expensive.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00c4ND\u00c5 = STILL, NEVERTHELESS, ANYWAY<\/strong><br \/>\nEX: Sluta tjata, du f\u00e5r \u00e4nd\u00e5 inget godis <strong>\u00e4nd\u00e5<\/strong>\u00a0 = Nag all you want, you are <strong>still <\/strong>not getting any sweets<br \/>\nEX: Jag \u00e4r inte hungrig, men jag ska \u00e4ta den d\u00e4r hamburgaren <strong>\u00e4nd\u00e5<\/strong> = I&#8217;m not hungry, but I&#8217;ll eat this burger <strong>nevertheless\/anyway<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c4ND\u00c5 kan also be used the following way, meaning &#8220;while you are at it&#8221;:<br \/>\nEX: <strong>N\u00e4r du \u00e4nd\u00e5 h\u00e5ller p\u00e5<\/strong> kan du v\u00e4l st\u00e4da k\u00f6ket? = <strong>While you are at it<\/strong>, can you clean the kitchen?<\/p>\n<p>\u00c4ND\u00c5 is also used in the follwing expressions:<br \/>\n<strong>Om \u00e4nd\u00e5 = if only<\/strong><br \/>\nEX: <strong>Om \u00e4nd\u00e5<\/strong> Brad Pitt kunde se mig! = <strong>If only<\/strong> Brad Pitt would see me!<\/p>\n<p>Phew, this is complicated even for a native!
