First of all sorry guys but WordPress and Office, seems to live two different lives. We usually say that there are 5 verb groups in Swedish and one of them are the irregular verbs<\/strong> ( starka\/oregelbundna verb). This group must be familiar for anyone who speaks a German language. But what is the easiest way to remember a group of verbs when there are basically no rules, when it comes to verb forms in this very group? I recommend that you match all the\u00a0new irregular verbs you learn\u00a0to these groups.<\/p>\n

\u00a0There are several easy trics to memorize verbs. One of them is to memorize them from the left to the right in the following order:<\/p>\n

Imperative<\/span> has the same form\/length sometimes as infinitive so you can always put an exclamation mark after imperative to make a difference.<\/p>\n

Infinitive<\/span> always ends with a vowel and you use the form after the modal verbs for example shall\/will<\/strong> (ska), want<\/strong> (vill), can <\/strong>(kan) and so on.<\/p>\n

Present<\/span> form is the form that you use for now<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Imperfect=Past Simple<\/span> is also known as Preteritum (in Swedish) that you use for things happend in the past\/yesterday<\/em>.<\/p>\n

And last but not least you have the Present and Past\/Plusquam<\/span> Perfect<\/span> aka. Supinum or har\/hade + t-form of the verb.\u00a0Present Perfect\u00a0you use in cases where the action begins in the past\u00a0but has a result today\/in the now<\/em>. For example: I have closed the window.<\/strong><\/em> (Jag har st\u00e4ngt f\u00f6nstret.) Result: The window is closed now<\/strong>. (F\u00f6nstret \u00e4r st\u00e4ngt). Past Perfect aka.<\/em> Plusquam Perfect is the tense that is used for refering to an event that has been completed before another past action. For example : I thought, that we had made a deal.<\/strong> (Jag trodde, att vi hade kommit \u00f6verens).<\/strong><\/p>\n

There is no grammatical logic in this group of verbs when it comes to conugation. What you can do is to put them in groups\u00a0according to melody\u00a0. Read out loud\u00a0the forms of Present, Imperfect and\u00a0Perfect!<\/p>\n
