Click away!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Favourite Famous Swede:<br \/>\n<\/strong>The remarkable children&#8217;s authur <a href=\"http:\/\/www.astridlindgren.se\/\">Astrid Lindgren<\/a>. If you still haven&#8217;t read the amazing stories about the Lionheart Brothers, Ronia, the Robber&#8217;s Daughter or Mio, My Mio, please do so. Immediately.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Favourite Swedish Word:<\/strong><br \/>\nSmultronst\u00e4lle = a place that you love and cherish is your &#8220;wild strawberry place&#8221;. Smultron = Wild strawberry. St\u00e4lle = Place.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Favourite Swedish Slang:<\/strong><br \/>\nG\u00f6tt = great<br \/>\nM\u00f6la = stuff your face with something yummy<br \/>\nAsar = Lurch around doing nothing<\/p>\n<p><strong>Favourite Swedish Sayings:<\/strong><br \/>\nSmaken \u00e4r som baken &#8211; delad = The taste is like your butt &#8211; divided.<br \/>\nMan ska inte ropa hej f\u00f6rr\u00e4n man \u00e4r \u00f6ver b\u00e4cken = Don&#8217;t shout hello until you have crossed the stream.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Favourite Swedish Food:<\/strong><br \/>\nWithout a doubt <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/swedish\/dear-santa-and-kara-tomten\/\">Falukorv<\/a>. Followed by a newly baked, big and moist cinnamon bun after <a href=\"http:\/\/scandinavianfood.about.com\/od\/coffeecakessweetbreads\/r\/cinnamonrolls.htm\">this <\/a>recipe. Mmm heavenly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Favourite Swedish Candy:<\/strong><br \/>\nPolly &#8211; a little chocolate covered foam-thing with butter fudge filling that has been a Swedish classic since 1965 and can be purchased at IKEA. A must, I tell you. And horribly salty liquorice, of course!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Favourite Swedish Movie:<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8220;En K\u00e4rlekshistoria&#8221; (A Love Story\/Roy Andersson, 1970)<br \/>\n&#8220;Tilsammans&#8221; (Together\/Lukas Moodysson 2000)<br \/>\n&#8220;Farv\u00e4l Falkenberg&#8221; (Goodbye Falkenberg\/Jesper Ganslandt 2006)<br \/>\n(All are available with subtiles)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Favourite Swedish Webpage:<\/strong><br \/>\nwww.blocket.se &#8211; where the Swedes buy and sell their used cars\/furniture\/clothes\/cell phones&#8230; Last year, we bought and sold tings for almost two billions on there! Simple, fun AND environmental friendly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Favourite Swedish blog:<\/strong><br \/>\nWell, apart from the obvious, I &#8211; and almost half of Sweden&#8217;s population &#8211; love to read <a href=\"http:\/\/blogg.aftonbladet.se\/pappabloggen\">this <\/a>funny a sharp blog by the Swedish journalist and author Alex Schulman.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Favourite Swedish Book:<\/strong><br \/>\nApart from everything with Astrid Lindgren I can read Swedish crime until my eyes bleed. The favourite author at the moment is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.monskallentoft.se\/pages.aspx?r_id=42883\">Mons Kallentoft<\/a> and his novel &#8220;Sommard\u00f6den&#8221; (The Summer Death) gives me the creeps just by standing there in the book shelf.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Favourite Swedish TV-show:<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8220;Mia och Klara&#8221;, Swedish humour at its best. Have a sneakpeak &#8211; in Swedish &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=E4d4NSLxMXk\">here!<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Favourite Swedish Magazine:<\/strong><br \/>\nWithout a doubt <a href=\"http:\/\/www.magasinetfilter.se\/\">Filter<\/a>. It&#8217;s thick like a book and contains billiant, long articles about everything. Literally everything.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Favourite Swedish Brand:<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.string.se\/\">String<\/a> has made classic and great looking shelves since the 1950&#8217;s. Welcome to design heaven!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Favourite Swedish Shop:<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.monkiworld.com\/se\/\">Monki<\/a> makes great and stylish women&#8217;s clothes to very much affordable prices.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Favourite Swedish Song:<\/strong><br \/>\nAt the moment, it&#8217;s\u00a0 H\u00e4stpojkens <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=vtxDGp-UezM\">&#8220;Gitarrer och bas, trummor och hat&#8221;. <\/a>(Guitars and base, drums and hate).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Favourite Swedish Royalty:<br \/>\n<\/strong>Our one and only female regent, Queen Kristina (1632-1654) a very interesting and strong character. Amongst the now living it must be the middle kid, 28-year old Madeleine.\u00a0Both\u00a0her and her\u00a0older sister Victoria, our next regent,\u00a0are getting married this summer. Talk about wedding fever!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Favourite Swedish City:<\/strong><br \/>\nG\u00f6teborg. Make sure to visit Slottskogen, a huge and beautiful park with lovely surroundings, lots of animals and great events.\u00a0And, more important,\u00a0have an ice cold beer on the 23d floor of Gothia West Tower.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Favourite Place In Sweden:<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vastsverige.com\/sv\/bohuslan\/\">Bohusl\u00e4n<\/a>, the little county on the south west coast. There&#8217;s noting like it. My smultronst\u00e4lle.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Favourite Thing To Do In Sweden:<\/strong><br \/>\nRight this moment, after writing\u00a0this, I would probably say to\u00a0m\u00f6la Polly while reading Mons Kallentoft and listening to H\u00e4stpojken somewhere on a warm cliff in Bohusl\u00e4n.
