But these pronouns have several practical\u00a0functions in the Swedish language.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Subject function of den\/det\/de:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jag \u00e5t <strong>en r\u00e4kmacka<\/strong> ig\u00e5r. <strong>Den<\/strong> var god. &#8211; (en r\u00e4ckmacka &#8211; den!) eng. I ate a <strong>shrimp sandwich<\/strong> yesterday. <strong>It<\/strong> was good.<\/li>\n<li>De har k\u00f6pt <strong>ett <\/strong>fint<strong> hus<\/strong> i Lerum. <strong>Det<\/strong> var mycket dyrt. -(ett hus-det!) Men de vill s\u00e4lja <strong>det<\/strong> om tv\u00e5 \u00e5r. eng. They have bought <strong>a<\/strong> nice <strong>house<\/strong> in Lerum. <strong>It<\/strong> was very expensive. But they will sell <em>it<\/em> in two years from now.<\/li>\n<li><strong>V\u00e5ra barn<\/strong> \u00e4r tre, fem och sex \u00e5r gamla. <strong>De<\/strong> g\u00e5r inte i skolan \u00e4n, s\u00e5 jag m\u00e5ste ta hand om <strong>dem<\/strong> h\u00e4r hemma. eng. <strong>Our children<\/strong> are three, five and six years old. <strong>They<\/strong> don\u00b4t go to school yet, so I have to stay at home and take care of <strong>them<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Demonstrative functions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jag tar <strong>den r\u00e4ckmackan<\/strong>\u00a0med mindre dill p\u00e5 till h\u00f6ger. -(en r\u00e4kmacka)\u00a0eng.
