You will notice that they look almost the same, except for their colors:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/upload.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/commons\/thumb\/9\/9c\/Flag_of_Denmark.svg\/500px-Flag_of_Denmark.svg.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The rest of the Nordic (Norway, Finland, Iceland, Faroe Islands) flags have similar designs. The flag of England is also said to have been inspired by Dannebrogen. The Dannebrogen itself is believed by many to have been designed based on the cross emblem of the Crusades.<\/p>\n<p>The colors of the Swedish flag are supposed to have come from Sweden&#8217;s Coat of Arms (<em>riksvapnet<\/em>), with a blue background of the same shade and a yellow cross through it. Here is a picture of Sweden&#8217;s Greater Coat of Arms:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/upload.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/commons\/thumb\/5\/56\/Coat_of_Arms_of_Sweden_Greater.svg\/300px-Coat_of_Arms_of_Sweden_Greater.svg.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>These colors have become traditional for Sweden and are used on many occasions, both national and international.<\/p>\n<p>The flag of Sweden is celebrated every year on <em>Sveriges nationaldag<\/em>, the national day of Sweden, otherwise known as <em>svenska flaggans dag<\/em>, the day of the Swedish flag.
