I thought, since I don\u2019t really have a good idea of what level you all are at, I start somewhere in the really basic area and work towards more complex things as we go along.<\/p>\n<p>The most important phrase ever probably is \u201cWhat is this in Swedish?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Vad \u00e4r det h\u00e4r p\u00e5 svenska?<\/p>\n<p>This phrase is used when for example pointing at something close to you. Det h\u00e4r means this. Yet again, the same thing.<\/p>\n<p>Vad kallas ______ p\u00e5 engelska? What is ______ called in English?<\/p>\n<p>Vad \u00e4r _______ p\u00e5 engelska? What is ________ in English?<\/p>\n<p>If you want to know what the word means in a language other than English here are the names for some of the languages most commonly spoken in Sweden.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0in English we say &#8220;in&#8221; English and use a capital letter for the language. In Swedish they do not use capitals for languages and they say &#8220;<strong>p\u00e5<\/strong> <strong>engelska<\/strong>&#8220;.
