Trees fill with fruit that gradually ripen on those sunny fall days and people turn their faces towards the sun and remember the summer that passed all too quickly.<\/p>\n<p>All of a sudden the rain starts falling and people hurry to pick their apples before they rot. Buckets and baskets of apples fill basements, hallways, kitchens or living rooms reminding their pickers that something has to be done with them.<\/p>\n<p>The following recipes are ones which can help you use up those apples and prevent them from going bad, and will brighten those rainy days even if it is just a little bit.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a recipe for an apple sponge cake, very good for a nice fall fika.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00c4PPELKAKA\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ingredienser:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2,5 dl vetemj\u00f6l<\/li>\n<li>2,5 dl socker<\/li>\n<li>1 tsk bakpulver<\/li>\n<li>0,5 tsk salt<\/li>\n<li>1 \u00e4gg<\/li>\n<li>100g sm\u00f6r<\/li>\n<li>4 st \u00e4pplen<\/li>\n<li>frivilligt:\u00a01-2 tsk kanel<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>G\u00d6R S\u00c5 H\u00c4R<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><b>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>S\u00e4tt ugnen p\u00e5 175 grader.<\/li>\n<li><b>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>Blanda samman de torra ingredienserna.<\/li>\n<li><b>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>Sm\u00e4lta sm\u00f6r och blanda sedan i sm\u00f6ret &amp; \u00e4gget i den torra blandningen.<\/li>\n<li><b>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>Sm\u00f6rj en ugnsfast form och l\u00e4gg i de skalade, urk\u00e4rnade &amp; klyftade \u00e4pplena. (h\u00e4ll \u00f6ver kanelen)<\/li>\n<li><b>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>H\u00e4ll smeten \u00f6ver \u00e4pplena och gr\u00e4dda i ugn 175 grader i ca 35 minuter.<\/li>\n<li><b>\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0Servera med fluffig vaniljs\u00e5s eller med florsocker ovanp\u00e5.\u00a0<b><br \/>\n<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">\n<p>Here comes the recipe in English as well \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p><strong>APPLE SPONGE CAKE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ingredients:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2,5 dl flour<\/li>\n<li>2,5 dl sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp bakingpowder<\/li>\n<li>0,5 tsp salt<\/li>\n<li>1 egg<\/li>\n<li>100g butter<\/li>\n<li>4 apples<\/li>\n<li>optional:\u00a01-2 tsp cinnamon<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>INSTRUCTIONS (literally the translation would be\u00a0<em>do like this<\/em>)<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\u00a0Preheat oven to 175 degrees.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Mix all the dry ingredients<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Melt butter, mix then egg and butter, add then this mixture to the dry ingredients.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Grease a pan and put the pealed and cut apples in the pan. (sprinkle cinnamon over the apples.)<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Pour the batter over the apples and place in oven at 175 degrees for aprox. 35 min.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Serve with a fluffy vanilla sauce or powdered sugar over the top.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00c4PPELMOS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>S\u00c5 H\u00c4R G\u00d6R DU<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">Anv\u00e4nd v\u00e4l mogna, men inte \u00f6vermogna \u00e4pplen till mos. Skala och k\u00e4rna ur \u00e4pplena. Det \u00e4r viktigt att ev skadade partier och insektsangrepp sk\u00e4rs bort. L\u00e4gg de f\u00e4rdigansade \u00e4ppelklyftorna i kallt vatten s\u00e5 att de inte m\u00f6rknar.\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<section>\n<ol>\n<li>Koka upp p\u00e5 svag v\u00e4rme s\u00e5 att det inte br\u00e4nner vid. R\u00f6r om d\u00e5 och d\u00e5. K\u00e4nn med en provsticka att \u00e4pplena \u00e4r mjuka. R\u00f6r ner sockret och l\u00e5t koka upp igen.<\/li>\n<li>K\u00f6r \u00e4ppelklyftorna till mos i matberedare. Fyll sk\u00e5len till h\u00e4lften och mixa i ett par omg\u00e5ngar s\u00e5 att moset inte rinner \u00f6ver.<\/li>\n<li>H\u00e4ll upp i frysburkar i passande storlekar. L\u00e5t svalna och s\u00e4tt p\u00e5 lock. F\u00f6rvara burkarna i frys. D\u00e4r \u00e4r mosets h\u00e5llbarhet ca 1 \u00e5r. Ta fram s\u00e5 mycket som g\u00e5r \u00e5t och l\u00e5t tina i kylsk\u00e5p. Mosets h\u00e5llbarhet i kylsk\u00e5p \u00e4r begr\u00e4nsat till 1-2 veckor.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/section>\n<section><strong>APPLE SAUCE<\/strong>INSTRUCTIONS<\/section>\n<p><strong>Use very ripe, but not too ripe apples. Peal and clean them and make sure that all damaged parts are cut away. Put the pealed apple slices\/bits in cold water to avoid them turning brown.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Cook on low heat so that the apples don&#8217;t burn. Stir with short intervals. Check to see if the apples are ready by poking them with a toothpick. Add sugar and then bring the apples to a boil.<\/li>\n<li>Zap the apples in a food processor or mixer. If you don&#8217;t have a bug enough bowl only fill it slightly and repeat procedure so that the apple sauce doesn&#8217;t spill.<\/li>\n<li>Pour into (freezable) containers in suitable sizes. Let cool before putting lids on. If stored in freezer the apple sauce is good for about a year. Take out the amount you want to use, defrost and keep in fridge for up to max 2 weeks.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">\n<p>Lycka till !
