It is a gender neutral pronoun that many people mean was needed very much to fill a hole in the Swedish language. The purpose of the pronoun isn&#8217;t to gender-neutralize a person but more like not revealing gender in cases when you don&#8217;t want to, or not important. However, it is also used as a collective pronoun instead or writing &#8220;he\/or she can decide if&#8230;&#8221; we can simply write &#8220;hen can decide if&#8230;&#8221;. So I\u00a0personally \u00a0really feel that this is one of the most useful area in the language. The Swedish newspaper called &#8220;hen&#8221; as the you Swedish export product, hoping that it will be used in other countries too. Germanic languages would needed.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/swedish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2017\/01\/vallda-sando\u0308.jpg\" aria-label=\"Vallda Sando\u0308 350x263\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-7633\"  alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"263\" \/ src=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/swedish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2017\/01\/vallda-sando\u0308-350x263.jpg\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/swedish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2017\/01\/vallda-sando\u0308-350x263.jpg 350w, https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/swedish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2017\/01\/vallda-sando\u0308-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/swedish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2017\/01\/vallda-sando\u0308.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On the other hand there are other Finno-Ugric and Turkish-speaking nations who use gender-neutral pronoun. Finnish: H\u00e4n, Hungarian: \u00d6 etc.<\/p>\n<p>The Swedish Daily Newspaper thinks it is Sweden&#8217;t biggest export product. In Norwegian they started to use <em>hen<\/em>, in\u00a0Danish\u00a0<em>h\u00f8n<\/em>\u00a0and in Icelandic\u00a0<em>h\u00e1n\u00a0<\/em>as well. English has been a little more conservative when it comes to <em>hen. <\/em>English had tried a few alternative variations: ce, ze xo\u00a0but without any results.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dn.se\/kultur-noje\/hen-en-svensk-exportvara\/\">k\u00e4lla:<\/a>\u00a0Dagens Nyheter<\/p>\n<p>The Swedish language has already a gender neutral way to talk about things in general\u00a0<em>man <\/em>but recently it has also been exchanged by <em>hen<\/em> in many cases. Many people find this revolutionary and historic from a language point of view because we have been witnessing such a major change in the Swedish\u00a0language in our lifetime.<\/p>\n<p>Please do share your take on and how you solve issues like the need of a gender neutral pronoun in your language.
