When we were children, we learned that there were only 5 question words and they all started with \u2018W\u2019: who, what, where, why, and when. And perhaps we were told that \u2018how\u2019 was also a question word, which was really just \u2018who\u2019 but with the \u2018w\u2019 on the other side of the word.<\/span><\/p>\n

But they forgot to tell us the other<\/i> question words, such as \u2018yet\u2019, \u2018are\u2019, \u2018did\u2019, etc. For example:<\/p>\n

Have you learned them yet? Are you going to learn them? Did you learn it?<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the same in Thai. This lesson will be about the word \u0e22\u0e31\u0e07 yangM<\/sup> which means \u2018yet\u2019 or \u2018still\u2019. Just place it at the end of a sentence to make it a question. Here are two examples, first with a regular question word and then with \u2018yang\u2019:<\/p>\n

With Thai questions, you answer them by repeating\/rewording the question as your response. But you normally never repeat the question word itself. However, unlike the \u2018regular\u2019 Thai question words, you can use \u2018yang\u2019 as part of or even the entire answer.<\/p>\n

[I\u2019m] not yet hungry.<\/p>\n
