Perhaps your resolution is to <strong>learn Thai<\/strong> (\u0e40\u0e23\u0e35\u0e22\u0e19 \u0e20\u0e32\u0e29\u0e32\u0e44\u0e17\u0e22 rian paa-s\u0103a tai). Sadly, many people give up on their resolution halfway through the year. Actually, it&#8217;s not technically an alphabet &#8211;\u00a0it\u2019s an\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Abugida\">abugida<\/a>. In this writing system, each unit is based on a consonant, while the vowel notation is secondary.
