After all, it is the <strong>capital city<\/strong> (\u0e40\u0e21\u0e37\u0e2d\u0e07\u0e2b\u0e25\u0e27\u0e07 <em>meuang l\u016dang<\/em>) of Thailand. It&#8217;s a fascinating city with enough to see and do to keep you busy for weeks. You can do a bit of <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/thai\/5-must-see-bangkok-temples\/\">temple hopping<\/a>, visit bustling <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/thai\/bangkok-markets-chatuchak-and-or-tor-kor\/\">markets<\/a>, feast on <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/thai\/eat-your-way-through-bangkok\/\">mouth-watering Thai food<\/a>, and sample the city&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/thai\/bangkok-nightlife\/\">epic nightlife<\/a>. In the city, you can keep yourself busy with temples, museums, cafes, markets, and some great options for wining and dining. It&#8217;s all about adventure up here, though. Get out of the city for some <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/thai\/jungle-trekking-in-chiang-mai\/\">jungle trekking<\/a>, visit an <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/thai\/chiang-mai-elephant-camps\/\">elephant camp<\/a>, or rent a motorbike and tackle the 1,864 curves of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gratefulgypsies.com\/mae-hong-son-loop\/\">Mae Hong Son Loop<\/a>. With nearly 1,500 islands, it can definitely be hard to choose one. Some of the most popular islands include <strong>Phuket<\/strong> (\u0e20\u0e39\u0e40\u0e01\u0e47\u0e15 <em>poo-g\u00e8t<\/em>) and <strong>Ko Samui<\/strong>\u00a0(\u0e40\u0e01\u0e32\u0e30\u0e2a\u0e21\u0e38\u0e22 <em>g\u00f2r s\u00e0-m\u016di<\/em>). These islands are also more developed, as they both have an airport. The &#8220;Turtle Island&#8221; is one of the best (and cheapest) places in the world to get certified, with plenty of dive shops to choose from. Nearby <strong>Ko Pha Ngan<\/strong> (\u0e40\u0e01\u0e32\u0e30\u0e1e\u0e30\u0e07\u0e31\u0e19 <em>g\u00f2r-p\u00e1-ngan<\/em>) may be famous for its Full Moon party, but it&#8217;s also a great place for a meditation or yoga retreat. The biggest and best is <strong>Khao Yai<\/strong> (\u0e40\u0e02\u0e32\u0e43\u0e2b\u0e0d\u0e48), which was the first national park in Thailand. It&#8217;s just a few hours from Bangkok and has plenty of options for your visit. Those island hopping down south may want to just stop at <strong>Khao Sok<\/strong> (\u0e40\u0e02\u0e32\u0e2a\u0e01 <em>k\u0103o-s\u00f2k<\/em>) for a day or two in between islands. If you&#8217;re really looking for an adventure, head to <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/thai\/ko-tarutao-national-park\/\"><strong>Ko Tarutao<\/strong><\/a> (\u0e40\u0e01\u0e32\u0e30\u0e15\u0e30\u0e23\u0e38\u0e40\u0e15\u0e32 <em>g\u00f2r dt\u00e0-r\u00fa-dtao<\/em>) for a few days.
