People are competitive. We always need to compete. We need to be first in line. Win first in a competition. Be the first to finish. The first to the moon. Second place is as good as last, no?<\/p>\n

We also rank things in numerical order: first, second, third, etc. And that\u2019s what you\u2019ll learn today, how to rank things in Thai.<\/p>\n

The word tee3 \u0e17\u0e35\u0e48<\/strong> means \u2018place\u2019, \u2018location\u2019, or \u2018at\u2019. You put this before a number and you get a ranking.<\/p>\n

Now, this isn\u2019t always the case. If there is a list of something that isn\u2019t ranked in any particular order, and you just want to refer to the first item on that list, then you can use tee3 neung2 \u0e17\u0e35\u0e48\u0e2b\u0e19\u0e36\u0e48\u0e07<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u0e17\u0e35\u0e48\u0e2b\u0e19\u0e36\u0e48\u0e07\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 tee3 neung2\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 first (as in the first house on the street, first name on the list, etc.)<\/p>\n
