The majority of <em>m\u00e8o<\/em><em> nh\u00e0 <\/em>(house cats) in Vietnam are indoor\/outdoor cats and are raised for the sole purpose of chasing mice, particularly in the countryside. Unlike the overpopulation of <em>m<\/em><em>\u00e8o hoang<\/em> (stray cats) in the United States, there is not a problem in Vietnam because they would be trapped quickly by the locals to sell to traffickers for consumption.<\/p>\n<p>The majority of <em>m<\/em><em>\u00e8o <\/em>in Vietnam that you often see are <em>m\u00e8o<\/em><em> m\u01b0\u1edbp <\/em>(tabby)<em>, m\u00e8o<\/em><em> v\u00e0ng <\/em>(yellow tabby)<em>, or m\u00e8o<\/em><em> Xi\u00eam <\/em>(Siamese). <em>M\u00e8o<\/em><em> tam th\u1ec3<\/em> is a mix and is a tri-color cat. All of them are short hair. <em>M\u00e8o<\/em><em> nh\u00e0<\/em>\u2019s meals often include cooked rice mixed with some fat juice and leftover fish or shrimp. Because they are mainly raised as working cats, you won\u2019t find any overweight <em>m\u00e8o<\/em> in Vietnam.<\/p>\n<p>If you feel the need for a companion, need some emotional support, or simply have much love to give or want a challenge, I urge you to adopt <em>m<\/em><em>\u00e8o <\/em>at the shelter. There are so many to choose from and I promise you will find it\u2019s very rewarding if you do it right.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s talk about <em>\u01b0u<\/em><em> \u0111i\u1ec3m<\/em> (pros) and <em>nh\u01b0\u1ee3c<\/em><em> \u0111i\u1ec3m<\/em> (cons) for you to consider regarding cats.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u01afu<\/em><\/strong><strong><em> \u0111i\u1ec3m<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>M<\/em><em>\u00e8o <\/em>is known for its independence. Unlike <em>ch\u00f3<\/em> (dog) that needs constant attention from the owner, <em>m\u00e8o<\/em> needs a lot less attention. Therefore, you don\u2019t need to spend too much time to \u201cwalk\u201d or play with <em>m\u00e8o <\/em>as much as <em>ch\u00f3<\/em> when you\u2019re busy.<\/li>\n<li><em>M\u00e8o<\/em> is very clean. They groom themselves all day long so they don\u2019t smell. Indeed, you don\u2019t need to bathe them at all, especially the short-hair breeds.<\/li>\n<li><em>M\u00e8o<\/em> is very gentle and quiet. You don\u2019t have to worry about <em>m\u00e8o<\/em> \u201cbarking\u201d in the middle of the night to bother your neighbors. They don\u2019t jump up and down to dirty your clothes either.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>Nh\u01b0\u1ee3c<\/em><\/strong><strong><em> \u0111i\u1ec3m<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you define the word \u201cfaithful\u201d or \u201cloyal\u201d by a <em>ch\u00f3<\/em>\u2019s standard, <em>m\u00e8o<\/em> would fail your expectation. It\u2019s more challenging to get the cat\u2019s attention and trust.<\/li>\n<li><em>M\u00e8o\u2019s<\/em> waste is smelly and hard to get rid of the smell if he\/she made an accident on your carpet, furniture, or bed.<\/li>\n<li><em>M\u00e8o<\/em>\u2019s behavior is unpredictable and they can have a bad reputation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>About <em>M\u00e8o<\/em><\/strong><strong><em> \u0111en<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Among all breeds, poor <em>m\u00e8o<\/em><em> \u0111en<\/em> has the worst reputation for many reasons. I heard the adoption rate for <em>m\u00e8o<\/em><em> \u0111en<\/em> is very low compared to other breeds. Some people think they are ugly because they are just \u201cblack\u201d, don\u2019t appear well in pictures, or just look evil.<\/p>\n<p>I took a <em>m<\/em><em>\u00e8o hoang<\/em> in, who also is a <em>m\u00e8o<\/em><em> \u0111en<\/em> and trained him to be a <em>m\u00e8o<\/em><em> nh\u00e0<\/em>. This was my first time to have a cat. To my surprise, he has become a love bug in no time and an important member of our family. No doubt, he is the sweetest thing that came into our lives.<\/p>\n<p>Do give <em>m\u00e8o<\/em><em> \u0111en<\/em> a chance if you come across one.
