What is the CL-150 Cohort Coaching Program?

Each week, expert “Coaches” develop and distribute new software-based language lesson “workouts” at each of three proficiency levels in each of eight languages. Lessons are based on current, authentic content covering professionally relevant topics such as culture, economy, geography, military, politics, science, security, society or technology. Each lesson offers a variety of learning activities that engage the Cohort Member’s proficiency at the targeted proficiency level. Currently each of the eight languages offers three Cohorts to choose from: ILR 2, ILR 2+ or ILR 3. Cohort lessons are specifically designed to prevent language proficiency drop-off and enhance the proficiency of globally dispersed language professionals: Intelligence, SOF, FAOs, Diplomatic, Advisors, etc.

How can a Cohort help me?

• As a Cohort Member. Every week you will receive one or more engaging lessons based on current and authentic material, which you can complete online and/or on mobile devices anytime, anywhere.
• Unit Command Language Program Managers and training administrators. Use the CL-150’s reporting technologies to track individual Cohort Members’ learning, sustainment and practice efforts across all utilized platforms.
• Community Language Instructors and Mentors. Use these reliable, high-quality, weekly lessons as supplemental in-class and homework material.

How do I enroll in a Cohort?

There is no charge to enroll in a Coached Cohort. Simply log in to your CL-150 account through any of the following portals:

• Special Operations Forces Tele-training System (softsonline.org)
• CL-150 Portal (usg.transparent.com)

On the CL-150 homepage, click on the Cohorts panel and enroll in your desired Cohort(s).

Cohort members receive a welcome message confirming enrollment and are notified each week when new Cohort lessons become available.

CL-150 Bulletin subscribers will be notified as more training cohorts for other languages, dialects, and domains become available.
