After two months of lock down, Israel has lifted quarantine limits. leaving home and visiting family is allowed; the education system returned to full operation; and malls are open again. The government instructed mandatory social distancing and mask wearing to battle the spread of the coronavirus.

Pronouns

• מִשְׂרַד הַבְּרִיאוּת הַיּׅשְׂרְאֵלִי נָקַט צְעָדׅים מַרְחִיקֵי לֶכֶת כְּדֵי לַעֲצוֹר אֶת הִתְפַּשְּׁטוּת הַנְּגִיף בַּמְּדִינָה.

The Israeli Health Ministry has taken far-reaching measures to halt the virus’ spread in the country.

• מֶמְשֶׁלֶת יִשְׂרָאֵל אׅשְׁרָה הַגְבָּלוֺת חֲדָשׁוֹת לׅמְנִיעַת הׅתְפַּשְׁטוּת ה-COVID-19.

The Israeli government has approved new restrictions to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

• מַנְכָּ”ל מִשְׂרַד הַבְּרִיאוּת בִּיקֵּשׁ מׅיִּשְׂרְאֵלִים לִשְׁקוֹל הַאִםנְסִיעָתָם לְחוּ”ל בֶּאֱמֶת הֶכְרֵחִית, בְּשֶׁל הַסַּכָּנָה לְהִידַּבֵּק בְּקוֹרוֹנָה.

The Director General of the Health Ministry has asked Israelis to consider whether their travel abroad is really necessary, due to the danger of contracting the coronavirus.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had approved the plan, devised jointly by the National Security Council, and the finance and health ministries.

To reduce the risk of infection, try to maintain social distance in daily life as much as possible.

 Most patients will develop symptoms within 12 days of infection.

• נוֺסְעֵי הַתַּחְבּוּרָה הַצִּבּוּרִית מוּנְחׅים לׅשְׁמוֺר עַל רִחוּק חֶבְרָתִי.

Public transport passengers are instructed to maintain social distancing.

• רַבּׅים בַּקְהׅילוֺת הַחֲרֵדׅיוֺת לֺא שַׁמְרוּ עַל הַהַנְחָיוֺת לְרִחוּק חֶבְרָתִי.

Many in the ultra-Orthodox communities did not observe the guidelines for social distancing.

• הַנְחָיוֹת מִשְׂרַד הַבְּרִיאוּת מְאַפְשְׁרוֹת כָּרֶגַע הִתְקַהֲלֻיּוֹת שֶׁל עַד 50 אׅישׁ בְּשֶׁטַח פָּתוּחַ.

The Health Ministry’s guidelines currently allow mass gatherings of up to 50 people in open spaces.

 

Verbs

In March, Israel began limiting gatherings to 100 people.

The government imposed a closure on neighborhoods of Jerusalem with a high rate of infection.

Curfew was imposed in Israel during Passover.
