Stopping at a cafe Posted by on Oct 22, 2012 in Uncategorized

In Israel, meeting with friends in a קָפֶה is a popular thing to do. There are many cafes with outdoor seating where you can enjoy the good weather, קָפֶה and a סֶנְדְּוִיץ sandwich, etc.

You will find there are different types of coffee you can order:
קָפֶה פִילְטֶר – the filter is placed on top of the cup and brought to your table while it’s brewing
קָפֶה הָפוּךְ a latte
קָפֶה קַר – iced coffee
קָפֶה נָמַס – instant coffee

You can get your coffee עִם קָפֶאִין or נְטוּל קָפֶאִין. If you’re not a coffee drinker, there’s always תֵּה.

One more thing – Israelis are friendly people. So don’t be shocked or surprized if someone comes to you and asks
טָעִים לְךָ?
טָעִים לַךְ?

And you answer with:
כן, זה טעים לי
