These phrases will probably come in handy at some point in your life.

Hello or Goodbye – (namaste)(नमस्ते) the most common way to say hello

Hello or Goodbye – (namaskaar)(नमस्कार) a little bit more formal than namaste

Hello or Goodbye – (pranaam)(प्रणाम) also more formal and used towards people who are older and high in status

Hello or Goodbye – (raam raam)(राम राम) a bit more colloquial than namaste

Hello – (helo)(हेलो) is used when answering the phone

Greetings – (mubarak)(मुबारक)

Welcome – (Aapka swagat hai)(आपका सवागत है)

Nice to meet you – (aapse milkar bahut khushi huii)(आपसे मिलकर बहुत ख़ूशी हुई) in the formal way

Nice to meet you too – (mujhe bhii)(मुझे भी)

See you later – (phir milenge)(फिर मिलेंगे)

Thank you – (shukriya)(शुक्रिया) is of Arabic origin

Thank you – (dhanyavaad)(धन्यवाद) is of Sanskrit origin

Thank you very much – (bahut bahut)(बहुत बहुत)

You’re welcome – (aapka svaagat hai)(आपका स्वागत है)

It’s no problem – (koii baat nahii)(कोई बात नहीं) literally means “don’t mention it”
