Tattoo Messages Posted by on Apr 24, 2012 in Hindi Language

Going for a tattoo is an important decision for anyone. Moreover, a good message is more important than the decision of going for a tattoo itself. I never been to this experience but since I am working for this page, I receive numerous requests from the enthusiasts of Hindi which asks for the translation of a message for their tattoo.

I have found that the most of time, the message for their tattoo is a famous quote from some prominent personality. Today, I thought of finding some famous quotations which are suitable for tattoo. The translation in Devanagari script is provided as well.

Below you will find some of the famous quotations from Mahatma Gandhi,

1. “Hate the sin, not the sinner.”

” घृणा पाप से करो न की पापी से”

2. “The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.”

“जो कमजोर है वो कभी माफ नहीं कर सकते. क्षमा करना शक्तिशाली लोगों की विशेषता है”

3. “You must be the change you want to see in the world.”

“तुम वो परिवर्तन बनो जो तुम दुनिया में देखना चाहते हो”

4. “An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.”

“आँख के बदले आँख पूरी दुनिया को अँधा बना देती है”

5. “In a gentle way, you can shake the world.”

“एक सौम्य तरीके से, आप दुनिया हिला सकते हैं”

6. “My life is my message.”

“मेरा जीवन ही मेरा संदेश है.”

7. “Where there is love there is life.“

“जहाँ प्यार है, वहाँ जीवन है.”

8. “Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.”

“शक्ति शारीरिक क्षमता से नहीं आती है. यह एक अदम्य इच्छाशक्ति से आता है. “

9. “Each one prays to God according to his own light.”

“भगवान से हर कोई अपने अनुसार प्रार्थना करता है”

10. “Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.”

“जीयो ऐसे की कल मरना हो, सीखो ऐसे जैसे की हमेशा जीना हो”

11. “Nobody can hurt me without my permission.”

“कोई मेरी अनुमति के बिना मुझे चोट नहीं पँहुचा सकता “

I am thinking about getting a tattoo. in hindi. which is a bit crazy since I do not speak the language at all.

I wonder can you do me a big favor.

Instead of “in a gentle way you can shake the world”
I want “in a gentle way I can shake the world”

can you please give me the translation of it.

    it will be very appreciated.

    thank you so much.

    Hello

I want to make sure that I have the correct hindi words for those 2 nouns

    Forgiveness :क्षमा (Kshama)
    Compassion : दया (Daya)

There are a lot of words for love, and I love the urdu word Mohabbat the most (मोहब्बत)

So would it be correct for a tattoo to read?

    मोहब्बत
    क्षमा
    दया

    Thanks for your answer

    • Nitin Kumar:

      @tasifa Namaste Tasifa,

  4. Henrietta:

Maybe you could translate this quote from Gandhi for me: “you and me we are one i can not hurt you without hurting myself”

    • Nitin Kumar:

      @Henrietta Namaste Henrietta,

      The translation will be ” तुम और मैं, हम एक हैं। मैं अपने आप को दुःख दिए बिना तुम्हे दुःख नहीं दे सकती। ”
The pronunciation scheme will be: Tum aur main, ham ek hain. Main apne aap ko dukh diye bina tumhe dukh nahi de sakti.

      Hope this helps!

  5. Emma claire:

Hi, can you translate a phrase for me? It would be: “do not let the pain destroy you”
Thank you! I want it as a tattoo so I hope it can be translated soon and correctly!
