Vocabulary in Hindi – Farm Animals Posted by on Oct 12, 2012 in Hindi Language

Many of you might have learned basic vocabulary in Hindi and now looking for specific vocabulary such as vocabulary for the farm animals. Therefore, I have made this post on the vocabulary of the farm animals. The vocabulary is with the pronunciation scheme (romanized Hindi) to help you to to learn new words.

Some of the common animals on a farm are:

Bull – बैल (Bael)
Cow – गाय (Gaay)
Buffalo – भैंस (Baens)
Bison – भैंसा (Baensa)
Calf – बछड़ा (Bachada)

Rooster (Male Chicken) – मुर्गा (Murga)
Hen (Female Chicken)  – मुर्गी (Murgi)
Chick – चूजा (Chuzaa)

Jackass (Male Donkey)  – गधा (Gadha)
Jenny (Male Donkey) – गधी (Gadhi)
Foal – बछेड़ा (Bachada)

Billy goat (Male Goat)  – बकरा (Bakara)
Nanny goat (Female Goat)  – बकरी (Bakari)

Stallion (Male Horse) – घोड़ा (Ghoda)
Mare (Female Horse)   घोड़ी (Ghodi)
Foal – बछेड़ा (Bachada)
Pony – टट्टू (Tattu)

Boar (Male Pig)  –  सुअर (Suwar)
Sow (Female Pig)  – सुअरिया (Suwariya)
Piglet – सूअर का बच्चा (Suwar ka Baccha, lit. English. Child of a pig)

Buck (Male Sheep) – नर भेड़ (Nar Bhaed)
Ewe (Female Sheep) – मादा भेड़ (Mada Bhaed)
Lamb – मेमना (Maemna)
Flock – झुंड (Jhund)

Duck – बतख (Batakh)
Duckling – बत्तख़ का बच्चा ((Batakh Ka Baccha, , lit. English. Child of a duck)

Bee – मुक्खी (Makhi)
Honeybee – मधुमुक्खी (Madhu Makhi)
