Our first business podcast is about sales. In any business line, there are ups and downs in sales and today you’re going to learn and review some very useful expressions.

Let’s start when sales are growing. We can use expressions like these:

Sales are … booming / … on the rise. / … really taking off. / … skyrocketing. / … showing signs of growth. / … up.

Sales have … jumped. / … shot up. / … risen sharply (rapidly / dramatically / substantially).

Now when sales are not so good we can say that

Sales are … down. / … falling. / … leveling off. / … sluggish.

Sales have … dropped. / … plummeted. / … tapered off. / … slowed a bit. / … reached their peak. / … taken a dive. / … steeply declined.
