A palavra between quer dizer basicamente “entre duas coisas”.

Usamos between:

01. quando algo está entre duas outras coisas.

New York City is between Boston and Washington, D.C. – A cidade de Nova Iorque fica entre Boston e Washington, D.C.
Sally is sitting between Mark and Paul. – Sally está sentada entre Mark e Paul.
