MSM- Midnight Sun Marathon in Tromsø Posted by kari on Jun 27, 2011
I´m a runner, but I´ve never competed in a race, nor do I really enjoy running with others (except my dog). Therefore, I´ve never considered a marathon or half marathon. I´ll do centuries (100 mile bike rides), but somehow I can´t even compare a century to a marathon. Biking is so much more forgiving. Anyways…

Last Thursday, Norwegian broadcasting company, NRK, started airing the 5 day trip of the Norwegian cruise ship Nord Norge from Bergen to Kirkenes. Norwegian gentlemen Posted by kari on Jun 4, 2011
I was on a bike ride this morning and rode past the Stanton airport, where pilots and their families were having a picnic. Whenever I see small planes or helicopters, I think of my late friend (who was Norwegian) who died in a helicopter crash 2 years ago this summer. The purpose of this post…
Kristi Himmelfartsdag Posted by kari on Jun 2, 2011
A comical name for a holiday for non-Scandinavians, Kristi Himmelfartsdag is the Christian Holiday known to English speakers as “Ascension Day.” Always falling 40 days after Påske (Easter), this year the høytidsdag (religious holiday) falls much later than normal because Påske was so late this year. Today, June 2 is Kristi Himmelfartsdag and the Norwegians…
