Christmas gift tips.  Alle sammen kan bruke disse, ikke sant?  Everyone can use these, right?  I know I could use some tips this year for julegaver.  I often do my julegaveshopping dagen før jul (the day before Christmas), but this year, I want to have it done at least a week in advance, so I’m not scrambling. A good friend and I are taking a day off of work this week to get together for å lage mat (to make food).  We haven’t decided exactly what we are going to lage yet, but we thought this would be a nice, thoughtful gave til familie og venner (gift for family and friends).  Alle sammen liker å spise god, hjemmelaget mat (Everyone likes to eat good, homemade food).  I know I do!  So let’s look at some julegavetips fra Norge.  Her får du ekspertenes tips til de eksklusive, spennende, og morsomme gavene (Here you get experts tips for the exclusive, exciting, and fun gifts). 

Nicholas Blomgren Facchin of Le Canard, an upscale restaurant in Oslo, gives tips for de vininteresserte (those interested in wine), who says that “Vin er en sikker vinner under treet” (Wine is a sure winner under the tree).  Facchin recommends Breuer Riesling Sauvage 2008 for those på et budsjett (on a budget) who are looking for a god, tørr Riesling (good, dry Reisling).  For those willing to spend litt mer (a little more), he recommends Turgy Réserve Selection Blanc de Blancs, a deilig tørr champagne med flott frukt og fin struktur (delightful, dry champagne with a great fruity and nice structure).  And for those who are not på et budsjett at all, Facchin recommends, for the vinsamler (wine collector), Barbaresco 2005, en av de beste vinene fra (one of the best wines from) Châteauneuf du Pape. 

How about for those like myself that would like to give of mat?  A chef from the same restaurant as Facchin, Le Canard, recommends franske oster, paté, god olivenolje, og fikenmarmalade (French cheeses, paté, good olive oil, and fig marmalade).  Jonathan Howell likes fois gras paté laget av ren lever av gås eller and (made of clean liver of goose or duck).  Howell thinks these patés passer til en god fikenmarmalade (go well with a good fig marmalade).  He suggests franske oster som passer bra til god hjemmebakt brød (French cheeses that go well with good, home-baked bread). 

For those looking for gaver related to skjønnhet og velvære (beauty and wellbeing), Vendela Kirsebom, “Fashion Bible” forfatter (author) recommends hudpleie (skincare), grønn te (green tea), hårkur (head treatment), or en massasje (a massage). 

If you are looking for a gift for someone who is interested in design, Kjetil Wold, kreativ leder og partner i designbyrået Arti (creative leader and partner in the design agency) suggests a  good pepperkvern (pepper mill), et gulvteppe (rug), or en plakat (a poster).

What about for den stilbeviste (the style conscious)?  Randi Helen Svendsen suggests rød leppestift eller et par sko, kanskje høye hæler (red lipstick or a pair of shoes, maybe high heels) til en dame og en hatt til hverken en dame eller en mann (for a woman and a hat for either a woman or a man).
