In this Spanish lesson we are going to practice talking about music in Spanish. First we will learn some relevant grammar and vocabulary and then see if you can follow a short audio conversation in Spanish. The transcript to the audio will be given at the end of the post but please try not to look at it until you have tried playing and understanding the audio a few times.

Inma: ¡Dave! ¡Dave! ¡Dave!
Dave: ¡¿Qué?!
Inma: ¿Puedes dejar de hacer ese ruido, por favor?
Dave: ¿Qué ruido?
Inma: Estás cantando, tarareando, no sé qué, con tus auriculares puestos y ¡me está volviendo loca!
Dave: ¡Este es el mejor álbum que he escuchado en mi vida!
Inma: No me importa. Deja de tararear.
Dave: Muerte Congelada. ¡El mejor grupo del mundo entero!
Inma: Muerte Congelada… ¡¿en serio?! No me suenan nada.
Dave: Probablemente porque escuchas música clásica aburrida y cantas en un coro.
Inma: Sí, canto en un coro ¿y qué? Sé mucho más sobre música que tú o tus amiguitos de Muerte Congelada.
Dave: Oh, sí claro…
Inma: Sí, de verdad. No sabes nada de armonía o historia de la música. ¿Sabes leer música o tocar un instrumento?
Dave: ¡¿A quién le importa eso?! ¿Has ido alguna vez a un concierto en directo? ¿Alguna vez has estado en un mosh pit? ¿Alguna vez te has lanzado desde un escenario a los brazos de miles de otros fans?
Inma: No tengo ni idea de lo qué estás hablando. ¿Mosh Pit? ¿Qué es eso?
Dave: Exactamente.
Inma: La música, la música real es otra cosa. De lo que estás hablando es de una especie de tribu social. Gritando con angustia, vestidos con camisetas sucias, como una manada de adolescentes.
Dave: Gritando Angustia… ¡qué nombre más guay para un grupo! ¡Voy a formar mi propio grupo!
Inma: No puedes tocar nada y cantas desafinado.
Dave: No importa.
