How to gossip in Spanish! Posted by on Jul 14, 2011 in Spanish Culture

¡Hola! ¿Cómo les va todo? Espero que muy bien.

We all gossip, a little or a lot, and today I will give you some useful sentences if you want to talk about what someone has done or dish out some dirt, ¡en español!

¿Supiste lo que pasó?
Did you know what happened?

No vas a creer lo que pasó.
You’re not going to believe what happened.

Corre un rumor…
There’s a rumor…

Se corre la boca que…
People are saying that…

Son puros chismes.
That’s pure gossip.

¿Tú puedes guardar un secreto?
Can you keep a secret?

Entre nosotros.
Between you and me.

No se lo cuentes a nadie. Nadie lo puede saber.
Don’t tell anybody. Nobody’s supposed to know.

Por lo que oí decir.
From what I’ve heard.

No sé lo que dijeron.
I don’t know what they said.

Están diciendo que…
People are saying that…

Perdón, pero no pude evitar oír la conversación…
Sorry, I couldn’t help but overhear the conversation…

Mira, esto es un secreto.
Look, this is a secret.

Mira, yo no te dije nada.
Look, I didn’t say anything.
