Ours, yours, and theirs Posted by Stephen Maconi on Feb 25, 2011 in Grammar, Swedish Language
Hi everyone,
Here’s part two of He’s driving his car. No, his car!, titled for lack of a better idea Ours, yours, and theirs. Whereas last time I covered singular personal possessive pronouns, this time is all about their plural counterparts, vår, er, and deras. Enjoy!

Your videos are really useful Steve, but I appreciated this particular one because I was not very clear on the plural forms of the posesive pronouns, it’s impressive how good your explanations are! Tack =)

I truly value your contributions to the Swedish blog. Thank you! My hope is that you will continue to produce these videos – one subject I wish you would tackle is how to questions with detail words like, “even”, “maybe”, “sometimes”, “depends” instead of just “jag” eller “nej”. Tack!

Hej Steve!
Thanks a lot for bringing my grammar book to life with your really helpful videos!
I am struggling with the “indefinite pronoun” – i.e. the use of “man” (subject), “en” (object), “sig” (reflective pronoun). I don’t know when to use “ens” (possessive pronoun) or “sin, sitt, sina” (reflexive possive pronoun). Any help would be appreciated! Even my Swedish relatives have found this last point tricky as they know which one to use but not necessarily the rules they follow!
Ha det så bra och tusen tack!
Christina
