SwS Episode 6: Att baka semlor Posted by on Jan 20, 2011 in Swedish Language, Vocabulary

Hey guys!

I’m back again, after just two days. (The frequency might explain why it took me until 23:00/11:00pm to complete this post!) Aurora and I decided to make semlor today, and we thought you might like to see the process and its result, and even learn some new phrases. So we filmed the entire thing, and here it is for you to drool over!

If you haven’t tried a semla before, you can bake it via the recipe we improvised from here: http://www.recept.nu/1.18239/anders_leven/efterratter_godis/mjol/1.18239

In case you’re concerned about reading the instructions, much of the vocabulary is translated in the Byki list linked above. The terms that aren’t there, you can look up in The People’s Dictionary at this link: http://folkets-lexikon.csc.kth.se/folkets/folkets.en.html

Hope you enjoyed the video! I’ll be back next week, but unfortunately Aurora will be back in Sweden by that time. 🙁 But we may prepare another video together while she’s still here, so don’t give up hope! (Although don’t get it up too high either.)

Ha det bra!
