As you get better in Thai you are going to find yourself using Thai more and more online. At first you’ll get those little Thai letter keyboard stickers, and then after practice learn how to type Thai without looking at your keyboard (probably because the stickers wore away to the point of being illegible haha).
At some point you are going to swap over the menu systems on your computer to use Thai, perhaps just for fun, or to show your 1337-ness that you don’t need English anymore. When I first started doing this I had some serious trouble adjusting. I’m quite skilled at using a computer, and knew all the terminology. But when everything was in Thai, I felt like a complete n00b. I typically ended up just swapping my system back over to English to debug various issues. I also found myself just randomly clicking and guessing in frustration, sometimes causing me even more issues (oops). Some programs, such as Gmail, change around their menus and translations of their menus every month making it even more challenging.
Well, this post will help you make the transition over to Thai menus go a little more smoothly it was for me.
In today’s lesson, which is meant for those who can read Thai at a basic or higher level, we’ll go over Facebook in Thai. Go to the account settings and find the languages tab, and swap over to Thai. It will be listed as ภาษาไทย in the dropdown menu.
There is quite a lot, so I’ll only list the most important stuff here as a vocabulary list.
