Vanligvis er Norge et veldig trygt land. (Normally, Norway is a very safe country.) Here are a few expressions to use when everything goes wrong…

Hjelp, jeg har gått meg vill! (Help me, I’ve lost my way!)

Vet du hvordan jeg kommer meg tilbake til veien? (Do you know how I get back to the road?)

– Kan jeg låne telefonen din? (May I borrow your phone?)

– Har du nummeret til legevakten? (Have you got the number of the ”doctors’ central”?)

– Hvor ligger det nærmeste sykehuset? (Where is the nearest hospital?)

– Jeg har brukket foten min. Jeg blør. (I’ve broken my foot. I’m bleeding.)

– Gjør det veldig vondt? (Does it hurt a lot?)

– Kan du førstehjelp? (Do you know first aid?)

– Ja, jeg kan førstehjelp. (Yes, I know first aid.)

– Skynd deg. Ring etter en ambulanse. (Hurry up. Call an ambulance.)

– Jeg har mistet bilnøkkelen min/kompasset mitt. Har du sett den/det? (I’ve lost my car key/my compass. Have you seen it?)

– Vi måtte snu på grunn av tåke/snøras/steinras/storm. (We had to turn around because of fog/a snowslide/a rockslide/storm.)

– Har dere plaster/bandasje/solkrem? (Have you got plaster/bandage/sunscreen?)

– Vi har punktert. Vi har løpt tørr for bensin. (We’ve got a flat tyre. We’ve run out of gasoline.)

– Jeg er sulten og tørst. Hvor kan jeg kjøpe mat og drikke? (I’m hungry and thirsty. Where can I buy food and beverage(s)?)

– Er det langt igjen? Jeg må på do! (Is it far? I need to go on the toilet!)

– Bruk solbriller dersom du ikke vil bli snøblind! (Use sunglasses if you don’t want to turn snow-blind.)

– Hjelp! Noen har stjålet veska mi/telefonen min! Jeg må snakke med politiet/ambassaden min! (Help! Somebody has stolen my bag/my phone! I need to talk to the police/my embassy!)

– Unnskyld, kan du hjelpe meg? (Excuse me, can you help me?)

– Jeg beklager. Dette er en nødsituasjon! (I’m sorry. This is an emergency!)

Det er brann på kjøkkenet. Har du kontaktet brannvesenet? (There’s a fire in the kitchen. Have you been calling the fire brigade?)
