In this interactive Spanish review lesson we are going to practice how to speak about the family in Spanish using El verbo Ser and Spanish possessives.

1. First, let´s translate the following Spanish family words from Spanish to English:

– Hija
– Sobrino
– Nietos
– Hermana
– Marido
– Padres
– Abuela
– Tío

2. Now I would like you to translate the following family titles from English to Spanish:

– Cousins
– Brothers and sisters
– Wife
– Uncle
– Granddaughter
– Grandparents
– Children
– Mother
– Niece

3. Next, I would like you to try to understand and translate the following Spanish sentences:

– Soy la hermana de Ana
– María es la tía de Antonio
– Roberto y Carmela son los padres de Vicente
– ¿Eres el primo de Luis?
– Somos los hermanos de Mercedes
– ¿Sois los padres de Sofía?
– Carmen es la sobrina de Carlota
– Son los abuelos de Nuria

4. Now say the following sentences in Spanish:

– Alberto is Sonia´s brother
– We are Federico´s cousins
– Are you Ana´s mother?
– I am José´s niece
– Are you Pablo´s grandparents?
– She is Carmen´s aunt
– María and Alfredo are Carla´s children
– I am not Silvia´s granddaughter

5. Let´s practice now the Spanish possessive determiners. Translate the following:

– Mis hermanos
– Nuestra madre
– Su hijo
– Vuestro tío
– Tu nieta

6. Finally, how do you say the following in Spanish?:

– Your sister (of one person)
– Their niece
– Our daughter
– His uncle and aunt
– My parents
