In this post, I present the answers of the exercises posted earlier to revise the dual forms in Arabic.

The tables below present the dual forms in Arabic and some examples

A- Complete the following sentences using the appropriate form of the verbs:

1. عمتي و خالتي تخرجتا من نفس الكلية. (تخرج

2. عاد* الزميلان إلى البيت في العاشرة مساء. (عاد

3. في الحقيقة هما لا يريدان أن يستمعا** إلى رأيي. (أراد – استمع

4. متى سـتجيئان لزيارتنا؟ (جاء + أنتما

5. الرئيسان السوري و اللبناني سـيتبادلان الزيارات قريباً. (تبادل

B- Put the underlined words in the dual form and make any other necessary changes:

1. الصديق الذي أتكلم معه في كل شئ هو صديق طفولتي

الصديقان اللذان أتكلم معهما في كل شئ هما صديقا*** طفولتي

2. هذا هو الكتاب الذي قرأته منذ أسبوع

   هذان هما الكتابان اللذان قرأتهما منذ أسبوع

3. تعرفت على هذه الطالبة في الجامعة وتكلمت معها عن الدراسة وزرتها في بيتها وساعدتها في مذاكرتها

تعرفت على هاتين الطالبتين في الجامعة وتكلمت معهما عن الدراسة وزرتهما في بيتهما وساعدتهما في مذاكرتهما

Notes:

* In this sentence, the verb precedes the subject, so it has to remain singular, and therefore it does not agree in number.

** In this sentence, the present tense is subjunctive after (أن), and therefore the final (ن) is deleted

*** In this sentence, the word (صديقان) is a first word in idaafa, and therefore the final (ن) is deleted
