مي زيادة كاتبة وشاعرة عربية كبيرة. ولدت في مدينة الناصرة بفلسطين. والدها لبناني الأصل، وأمها فلسطينية. عاشت مي مع أسرتها في الناصرة حتى عمر الرابعة عشرة. بعد ذلك، سافرت مع أسرتها إلى لبنان حيث التحقت بمدرسة الراهبات. ودرست فيها اللغات الإنجليزية والفرنسية وقرأت كثيراً من كتب الأدب الإنجليزي والفرنسي.
