Chinese Zodiac: The Rabbit Posted by on Jan 26, 2009 in Culture, Vocabulary

Hello Readers!

Today’s topic is the Rabbit.

People born in the year of the (rabbit) are known to be 温和 (moderate) individuals.  One drawback for the Rabbits is that they sometimes 遗失 (miss out on, lose due to carelessness) good opportunities because they tend to not make judgments in black and white terms.  敏感(sensitive) would be a good way to describe the Rabbit in this regard.  Like the Ox, Rabbits have a strong sense of responsibility.  Also, 在所有的生肖其中 (among all of the zodiac signs), Rabbits are the easiest to get along with, perhaps because they tend to 谦让(modestly decline) and be 善良(kind-hearted).  Careful to not be too generous, however, as Rabbits have a tendency to 浪费 (waste) money!  One famous Rabbit was Albert Einstein, does he meet the above description?

Check to see if you were born in the year of the Rabbit:
1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011, or 2023
Remember that if your birthday is in January or February that you may actually have been born in the previous zodiac year.  Next topic: the Dragon!
