Asheville Day Three Video Posted by sasha on Aug 29, 2018 in Culture
It’s been a busy couple of days in Asheville. So far on our trip around this beautiful city, we’ve seen the Biltmore Estate, cruised on the Blue Ridge Parkway, and had some amazing food and drink. I hope you still have room for more, because the third and final day is a good one!
Watch the final video in our “72 Hours in Asheville” series, which features some southern style biscuits, a few outdoor activities, and of course, a couple more craft breweries:
“Our third and final day in Asheville starts at Biscuit Head. Place your order for southern classics like pulled pork or fried green tomatoes. then Be sure to load up at the jam and butter bar and try a grapefruit mimosa.
Next, it’s time to get outside. One great option is tubing down the French Broad River. Bring along some beers and enjoy a lazy afternoon and beautiful scenery.
You could also play a game of disc golf at Richmond Hill. It’s like golf, only with frisbees and baskets. It’s a lot of fun and a great way to get some exercise.
If you have a car and don’t mind a somewhat long drive, you can head up to Max Patch. This hiking trail outside of Asheville provides some amazing views. When you finish, you can soak in a tub in the town of Hot Springs. If you’re hungry or thirsty, check out the Iron Horse Station here. It’s a nice place to grab a snack and a a drink. You might even catch some live music!
Once you’re back in town, it’s time to hit a few more breweries. Start with Burial, where you can try a flight to sample a few of their brews as you enjoy their outdoor seating.
Nearby is Dirty Jack’s, a taproom for Green Man Brewery. Check out their funky decorations and grab a pint of your favorite beer.
You may as well go for the trifecta and visit Catawba as well. They’ve got a lot of choices, so a flight is definitely your best bet here. You can even get a flight of eight!
Alternatively, you could head out to the state of the art Sierra Nevada brewery. Tours book up far in advance, but you’re still free to walk around to check it out. Grab a beer and head out to their massive backyard. They’re cooking up lots of tasty stuff here, too, like duck fat fries.
That does it for an awesome 72 hours in Asheville.”
