Are You Sometimes “Fainéant” (Lazy)? Posted by Hichem on Oct 29, 2013 in Vocabulary
Bonjour there! Tell me, how was waking up for you this morning? Rather facile (easy), difficile (difficult), or complètement pénible (completely rough)?
Whether you are the type of person who springs up from bed at the first beep of your réveil (alarm clock), or on the contrary one who has to be forcibly dragged away from under l’oréiller (the pillow), you will probably enjoy listening to this French song: No matter how good or bad your français is, you’ll find the lyrics to be quite easy to grasp and even, if you feel like it, memorize.
Why so?
Maybe because it so happens that the artist who wrote them, namely Keen’V, was having way too much “la flemme” (French slang for being “fainéant” is “avoir la flemme“, i. e. “to be lazy“, “to feel like not doing anything.”)
