Let’s talk about your job. What do you do? Do you like it? Hate it? Either way, let’s take a look at what to say to express your thoughts.

First, here’s some vocabulary when talking about your job.

work – עֲבוֹדה
friends – חֲבֵרִים
salary – מַשְׂכּוֹרֶת
conditions – תְנָאִים
atmosphere – אֲנִירָה
boss – בּוֹס
promotion – קִידוּם

Let’s learn some new verbs and see how they are used:

I like my work – אני אוהב אה העבודה שלי.
I like my boss – אני אוהב את הבוס שלי
I like the colleagues at work – אני אוהב אה קולגות בעבודה.

I am pleased with the working hours – אני מרוצה מהשעות של העבודה.
I am pleased with the salary – אני מרוצה מהמשכורת.

But not everything can be all great and wonderful at your place of work. How would you express that? The simplest way is placing “לֹא” (lo) after “אני”:

I don’t…. – אני לא
I don’t like my work – אני לא אוהב/ת אה העבודה שלי
I don’t like my boss – אני לא אוהב/ת את הבוס שלי
I don’t like the colleagues at work – אני לא אוהב/ת אה קולגות בעבודה.
I am not pleased with the working hours – אני לא מרוצה מהשעות של העבודה.
I am not at all pleased with the salary – אני לא מרוצה מהמשכורת בכלל.
