Today I will discuss a very important auxiliary verb होना (honā) or ‘to be’ in English.
An auxiliary verb is a verb that is used to support the main verb in the clause by adding mood, tense, number etc to give it a grammatical meaning. In Hindi, the auxiliary verbs are called सहायक क्रिया (Sahayak Kriya).
