As I promised for more information on our topic of declension of Noun in Hindi, here come the final post. I hope you had some good practice of previous two post.

1. लिंग  – Gender

पुल्लिंग संज्ञा से स्त्रीलिंग संज्ञा – Masculine Noun to Feminine Noun

a. Adding “इन” suffix to masculine noun to make in feminine :


Masculine Feminine
1.
मालिक (Landlord)
मालकिन(Landlady)
2.
नाग (Mas. Snake)
नागिन (Fem. Snake)
3.
पुजारी (Priest)
पुजारिन (Fem. Priest)

b. Adding “आनी” suffix to masculine noun to make in feminine : 


Masculine Feminine
1.
देवर (Younger Brother-in-law)
देवरानी (Younger Daughter-in-law)
2.
सेठ (Elder Brother-in-law)
सेठानी (Elder Daughter-in-law)
3.
नौकर (Male Servant)
नौकरानी (Female Servant)

c. Changing “अक” to “इका” suffix to masculine noun to make in feminine :


Masculine Feminine
1.
नायक (Actor)
नायिका (Actress)
2.
गायक (Male Singer)
गायिका (Female Singer)
3.
लेखक (Male Writer)
लेखिका (Female Writer)

d. Changing “मान” to “मती” suffix to masculine noun to make in feminine :

बुद्धिमान (Intelligent (Male))
बुद्धिमती (Intelligent (Female))
2.
श्रीमान (Mister)
श्रीमती (Mistress)
3.
गुणवान (Virtuous (Male))

e. Changing “ता ” to “त्री” suffix to masculine noun to make in feminine :

नेत्री (Leader (Female))

अभिनेता (Actor)

दाता (Donner (Male))
दात्री (Donner (Female))

2. वचन  – Number

एकवचन से बहुवचन  – Change of Numbers (Singular to Plural)

a. Adding ” ए ” as suffix :


एकवचन (Singular)
बहुवचन (Plural)
1.
गायिका (Female Singer)
गायिकाएं (Female Singers)
2.
माता (Mother)
माताएं (Mothers)
3.
सेना (Army)
सेनाएं (Armies)

b. Adding Chandra bindu ”  ँ ” as suffix :

बहुवचन (Plural)

चिड़िया (Sparrow)
चिड़ियाँ (Sparrows)

गुडिया (Doll)
गुड़ियाँ (Dolls)
3.
 डिबिया (Small Box)

c. Adding “ओं” as suffix :


एकवचन (Singular)
बहुवचन (Plural)

घर (Home)
घरों(Homes)

घोडा (Horse)
घोड़ों (Horses)

लड़का (Boy)
लड़कों (Boys)

d. Changing “ई” to ” इ” and then adding  यों suffix :
