Pariyanampetta Pooram is a seven day festival held at Pariyanampetta Bhagavathy Temple in Kerala. This is a temple dedicated to Bhagavathy. Bhagavathy is a term that is used to refer to Hindu goddesses. Here is a video of Pariyanampetta Bhagavathy Temple. As you can see, people offer their prayers when they enter this temple.

For Pariyanampetta Pooram there is a main ritual called Kalamezhuthu Pattu. This is a ritual where musicians play their music in front of a sand drawing of a deity.

Elephants are considered holy, so people go in droves to see them. Despite the loud noise from the drums and cymbals, the elephants are not scared and do not run away. Dressed in splendor, the elephants look majestic and towers over the well wishers.

One of the highlights of the festival is to see the elephants salute the bhagavathy. If you watch this video, you can see that the crowd cheers when the elephant bows down to the temple entrance. To finalize the festival, fireworks are released into the air.
