फिर भी कितना अँधेरा है।

How much light there is,
even then how much darkness there is.

कितनी नदियाँ हैं
फिर भी कितनी प्यास है।

How many rivers there are,
even then how much thirst there is.

कितनी अदालतें हैं
फिर भी कितना अन्याय है।

How many courts there are,
even then how much injustice there is.

कितने ईश्वर हैं
फिर भी कितना अधर्म है।

How many Gods there are,
even then how much immorality there is.

कितनी आज़ादी है
फिर भी कितने खूँटों से
बँधे हैं हम।

How much freedom there is,
even then from how many strings,
bound we are.
