A good majority of people in Kerala, India speak Malayalam and in Malayalam, “Sadya” is word meaning banquet. These are some of the foods that you might see in a sadya.

Rasam is a South Indian tomato soup. To make a basic rasam, add some lentils, water and tomatoes with some black pepper.

Aviyal is a South Indian vegetable and coconut oil dish made with curry leaves and yogurt.

Sambar is a South Indian vegetable stew flavored with cumin or asafoetida or tamarind with tomatoes.
