Sharana Navaratri is a festival occasion where the mother goddess is celebrated from a day to nine days. Different regions of India celebrate Navratri in different ways.
In Tamil Nadu and other south Indian states, Navratri Golu is a practice where various idols and figurines are placed on varying steps.
In West Bengal, a practice called Durga Puja is performed. A large idol of Goddess Durga is made and displayed in public.
In Gujarat, a famous dance called the Garba dance is performed. People come from far and wide to see this dance.
