In Hindi, there are special compound characters, the first of which is the character d (द्). There are seven forms used in these compound letters.
d + ga = dga : द् + ग = द्ग (उद्गार) (udgaara) means exclamation
d + da = dda : द् + द = द्द (बुद्दू) (buddu) = fool
d + dha = ddha : द् + ध = द्ध (शुद्ध) (shuddha) = pure
d + bha = dbha : द् + भ = द्भ (सद्भाव) (sadbhaava) goodness
d + ya = dya: द् + य् = द्य (उद्यान) (udyaana) garden
d + ma = dma : द् + म् = द्य (पद्म) (padma) lotus
d + va = dva : द् + व् = द्व (द्वीप) (dviipa) (island)
