Vocabulário: Fazendo e aceitando um convite. Posted by on Nov 10, 2009 in Iniciante

Usamos a expressão Would you like …? (Você gostaria de …?) para convidar alguém para fazer algo. Alguns exemplos:

Would you like to go to the movies with me tonight?
Would you like to go for a walk by the lakeshore later on?
Would you like to go to a concert on Saturday night?

Para aceitar você pode dizer:

Yes, I would.
Yes, I’d love to. Thanks for inviting me.

E perguntar mais detalhes:

What time are we going?
Where is it?
What time does the movie start?
What time should we meet?
Where should we meet?

Você pode recusar um pedido educadamente e dar uma desculpa (make an excuse):

I’d like to, but I have to go to work.
I’d really like to, but I’m traveling tomorrow morning.
I’d like to, but I’ve got to drive my mother to the airport.

See you next time!
